How we came to be Whiskey Laurel

Our Story

Hi, I'm Ashley—owner and lead planner of Whiskey Laurel. I’ve been happily married to my husband, Ricky, since 2017. Together, we’ve built a life filled with love, laughter, two beautiful children, and two adorable fur babies.

My passion for wedding planning grew from years of helping friends, family, my church, and even past employers coordinate events. I’ve always found joy in organizing the details and seeing it all come to life—especially when it brings people together in celebration.

One of the turning points came when Ricky and I coordinated a friend’s wedding, which was a last minute requests as I was also a bridesmaid! We had so much fun and loved the experience so much that we decided to turn it into something more. That’s when Whiskey Laurel was born.

Since launching in 2023, we’ve had the honor of planning and coordinating over 14 weddings, and every one of them has been a true blessing. It’s such a joy to walk alongside couples as they step into one of the most exciting chapters of their lives.

Our team is a small but mighty group made up of myself, Ricky, my amazing mom Terrie, and a few close friends who lend their talents when we need extra hands. Together, we’re all about creating a warm, stress-free planning experience—and unforgettable wedding days.

Whiskey Laurel is a side adventure fueled by heart, hustle, and a deep love for celebrating love.
Both Ricky and I have full-time careers that support our family and this dream of helping others start their lives together. Ricky works as a maintenance planner in Hopewell, while I run my own drafting and design business for residential construction projects.

We started Whiskey Laurel because we genuinely enjoy wedding planning—and because we believe in doing it the right way. That’s why we intentionally keep our client list small each year. Every couple deserves our full attention, thoughtful care, and a wedding that meets the high standards we hold ourselves to.

This isn’t just a business for us—it’s a labor of love.
